The NBA Draft!

Yesterday the NBA Draft started. I was excited to see who the Jazz would pick at #12. They picked Trey Lyles, who played for John Calipari at Kentucky. There were mixed reviews on this. A lot of people were upset that the Jazz didn't pick up shooting guard Devon Booker. Booker was named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year as well as being a McDonald's All American. I really liked how he played at Kentucky but I believe in Trey Lyles. I think that Lyle's has a lot to bring to the table. If you look at his stats from his one and only season in Kentucky he only averaged around 8 points and 5 rebounds but than again he had other players on the team that were stars. They all shared the basketball and worked well together as a team.

I am really excited to see this young man grow on the team. I believe he will definitely contribute and be a factor in the upcoming years. He has a lot to learn, as with any new NBA draftee but I think he will listen to his coaches and work hard and develop the skills he has further into basketball.

Trey Lyles said, "I think we're going to be nightmares for teams". Look at all the big men the Jazz have. They have Rudy Gobert, Derrick Favors, and now they get to add Trey Lyles now into the mix. Lyles is 6"10, weights 242 pounds, and has a 7-1 wing span. His coach John Calpari said that he was the X-Factor last season for Kentucky. I can't wait to watch him play with his fellow teammates.

The next player that the Jazz drafted was a Oliver Hanlan, who played college ball at Boston College. I hadn't even heard of him until the Jazz drafted him. I did some research on the kid and with what I could find on him he's a pretty good point guard and I am glad we got him. In his freshmen season, he averaged 15.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, as well as 2.3 assists per game. He is a very impressive player. I am surprised he wasn't picked earlier. He can do a lot of things and I think he will fit well with the Jazz.

Overall, I think this was a pretty good draft for the Jazz. I think that both of these players could be huge assets to the Jazz.
