Brady vs Manning

Next Sunday will be another epic showdown between Tom Brady and the Patriots vs Peyton Manning and the Broncos. The Patriots are highly favored in this game. Statistically speaking Brady holds the advantage against Manning in passing yards as well as touchdown passes. Manning has been suffering through a foot injury though and just recently got back to play against the Steelers.

The Broncos scored 5 field goals in the game against the Steelers on Sunday. They only had 1 Touchdown in the game, which came because of fumble by Steelers running back Fitzgerald Toussaint. In order for the Broncos to win against the Patriots they need to be scoring more Touchdowns than field goals on Sunday.

Brady and the Patriots are dangerous when they get in the red zone. Julian Edelman is now back from a injury so Brady has Edelman, Gronkowski, as well as Danny Amendola to throw to. These three have all came through for Brady, especially Gronkowski. The tight end has been very impressive this season. He leads all the tight ends in the league with receiving yards as well as touchdowns. The Patriots will be hard to stop if Brady is successful with passing the ball.

On the other hand, the offense is a different story. Brock Osweiler has been filling in for an injured Peyton Manning. In the 8 games he played he led the team to 5 victories. He has been pretty impressive as a QB and has done a great job for the team. Last year the Patriots came to Denver and Osweiler was able to lead the team with an overtime victory over the Patriots. This time Peyton will be playing so it will be interesting to see the plays that Rick Dennison calls out for Manning. Manning needs CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman to step up for him. They are both pretty good running backs it's just sometimes they are a bit inconsistent. Manning's bit two wide receivers are Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. They are very talented and were the top 2 targets in the game against the Steelers. The two wide receivers combined for 9 passes for 125 yards.

A lot of talk though has been Tom Brady vs Wade Phillips. Phillips is the defense coordinator for the Broncos. They have the #1 defense in the league. Can Phillips and the Broncos defense stop Brady and the high scoring offense? That's a question that will be answered on Sunday. Both teams are going to fight hard in this battle and it will be intriguing to see who comes on top.
